If you are on the MTN network and would like to save your mobile internet browsing costs by moving to a data plan, then you can do this by sending the request code to 131 in an SMS or by USSD.Just follow this link with your mobile phone to get started with MTN's data planBy sending help to 131 from your MTN powered mobile phone, you will be given a list of options on how to subscribe to their mobile data plans and the benefits they come with.Why subscribe to a data plan? Well, ordinarily, browsing on the MTN Nigeria network cost about 5k per kilobyte but browsing on a data plan can reduce your costs even below 1k per kb.MTN's bundled data plans are not available by default but requires that a subscriber request for it first and pay in advance with his airtime credit.The bundle plans offered by MTN come with data limits ranging from 10MB to 5GB. The 10mb is mainly for a validity period of 24 hrs and costs as low as N100 while the 5GB plan which costs N8000 lasts for up to 30 days from the date of subscription.MTN's data plans now come with auto-renewal, data roll over and gifting options. For the auto-renewal feature, once your plan is exhausted, it would automatically renew as long as you have sufficient airtime credit.You can always stop auto-renewal for your data plan by sending No to 131 via sms.
