When it comes to online shopping, it is a relatively new concept in Nigeria but it has been growing tremendously. Ever since large online shopping websites came into the picture, more and more Nigerians have been trooping to the internet.

It begins with a Shopping website, First Nigerians have to decide on which shopping website to buy from because there are quite a lot. One would have to also decide on whether to buy from a local or international websites. Local websites includes shopping sites like Jumia, Konga, Buyology and others. International websites includes sites like Amazon, buy, ebay and others.

Registration is the next step for the first time shopper. One would normally make a registraion which woould require the person's actual name and delivery details and then choosing a payment method which can be cash or card.

When it comes to payment methods, the local shopping websites in Nigeria tend to have more attractive payment options such as Online card payments, POS payments and cash payment on delivery. For international shopping websites, a Nigerian would have to use a Visa or Mastercard and payments would be made in the foreign currency using the bank's exchange rate.

After an order has been placed on a product, the next step is the delivery and this is normally done by the merchant who ships the item to the buyer after confirming payment or an agreed payment plan.

Deliveries after online shopping in Nigeria normally takes about 1 to 3 days if it's within the same state as the merchant but for international websites, it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months depending on the delivery service used.
