Want to transfer your airtime credit to another person as a gift or sale? Well MTN Nigeria offers you the ability to do this as long as you have a registered SIM and credit on your line.

MTN Share and Sell is a free service that allows subscribers to share or sell airtime credit by means of transfer using SMS or USSD.

What this means is that if subscriber A has got some credit on his phone like N5000 and he wants to credit another subscriber with say N1000, he can do so for free and within a few minutes by sending the command to 777 in SMS or by dialing the USSD command.

I think the fastest way of sending airtime credit using MTN is the USSD option but you have to ensure that you don't make any mistake with the recipient number since there is no way you can recover back that credit if you send it to the wrong person. It once happened to me when I sent credit to the wrong Nigerian and he didn't send it back. SMS option is safer but slower since you have to confirm the command with "Yes" before the final transfer is made.

How to transfer using your SIM Menu

- Go to your phone's menu > MTN Services > MTN SIM Pls >Tools > Share n Sell
- Select Transfer
- Enter recipient's phone number and submit
- Enter amount to transfer and submit
- Enter your 4 digit PIN and submit
- Confirm the transaction

How to transfer MTN credit by dialing a USSD command

- Ensure there is credit on your phone
- Enter the command in the format:
*600*Recipient's Number*Amount*PIN# e.g *600*08034*******100*1234# if your PIN is 1234 and the recipient's number is 08034******
- Airtime credit would be transferred to the recipient

How to transfer MTN credit using SMS command
==============
- Ensure you have credit
- Compose a text message in the format: Transfer Number Amount PIN e.g. Transfer 08034****** 100 1234 if those are the details you are using
- Send the message to 777
- The amount will be transferred to the person while your account would be deducted.

You should call MTN customer service or visit their office to reset your PIN to 0000. You will need to provide proof of your SIM card ownership.

You'd need to visit a customer service center or call them on phone to reset your PIN to 0000. You would need to have your SIM certificate with your or proof that it's actually your sim.

You can create your PIN by sending 0000 1234 1234 to 777 in a text message. This will change your PIN to 1234
