When it comes to getting access to Wifi hotspots in Nigeria, making use of a personal wifi connection is more reliable. This is due to the fact that there are not a lot of hotspots readily available.

Although you could find a couple of wi-fi hotspots in developed cities like Lagos and Abuja, when compared to the number of people who want internet services, their numbers are not sufficient.

With the face of changing technology, Wi-fi hotspots no longer have to be in a fixed location as it's now possible to make use of mobile wi-fi hotspots while on the move.

A Mobile WiFi modem is a device that is capable of creating a wi-fi hotspot and another good thing is that you can carry it with you wherever you go.

Mobile WiFi modems have become readily available in Nigeria besides the USB modems. All one needs to get one is subscribe to a plan from a service provider and he'll probably get the device for free with his first package.

I've also noticed that even some Android mobile phones are capable of acting as Mobile WiFi modems as they can create a wi-fi connection. I recently used a Samsung galaxy Y pro duo with my Kindle Fire and it worked really nice.

Mobile WiFi modems offer cheap and private Wi-fi networks as you'll probably be able to use it without having to be in a public place.

Mobile WiFi modems also allow for internet sharing unlike USB modems which are meant for a single user at a time. I think when it comes to internet sharing, there is a limit to the number of users, maybe 5. You just have to issue each of them the wireless password and they'll be able to connect to that internet service at the same time as you are connected.

Mobile WiFi modems are portable meaning that it is easy to move from place to place without having to be fixed at a permanent spot and that's an advantage.

Another advantage of Mobile WiFi modems is that they can work even when there is a power outage unlike most fixed Wi-fi modems. If you are living in a country like Nigeria where there is still scarcity of electricity, a Mobile WiFi modem would make sense since it has an in-built battery that allows it to work even while unplugged from power.
